It is the winter solstice this Saturday 22nd December 2018. The solstice is the shortest day in winter. This happens when the sun ☀️ reaches its most southerly declination of 23.5 degrees, when the North Pole is tilted farthest away from the sun, giving the least hours of daylight for the year. The shortest day is 7 hours & 49 minutes.
Stonehenge is a popular site to celebrate the winter solstice, as it marks the re-birth of the sun for the new year on the Pagan calendar.
Are you going to celebrate? If so where and how. We would love to hear from you ☀️

This is very interesting. I have been to Stonehenge for the summer solstice. I am not sure if the winter celebrations differ in any way.
